L. Arthur Sims,Jr

SIMS-Mr. L. Arthur Sims, Jr., age 88, of Warrenville, S.C., husband of the late Thelma Barton Sims and son of the late Lewis Arthur Sims, Sr. and the late Sabra Burckhalter Sims, went to be with his late wife and his Lord & Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2013. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Sims (Leonard) Moore of Warrenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Wendi & Rusty Arrington, Kipp & Julie Moore, Crystal & Chris Couch; great grandchildren, Corey Arrington, Caleb Arrington, Britney Moore and Nick Moore and like a sister, first cousin, Louise Richardson of Aiken, S.C. He was preceded in death by a brother, Burdette Sims. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Howlandville Baptist Church. He really enjoyed working with wood to create all types of crafts. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who loved his family and friends dearly. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 88 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, life for him has not ended, as God has promised eternal life for all who believe in Him. He has finished his journey and is now at peace with his maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Monday evening, December 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life & home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Kyle Poole and Chaplain Rick Boland officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be grandsons, Corey Arrington, Caleb Arrington, Nick Moore, Price Kneece, Emmett Harkins and Steve Moore. The family wishes to extend a very “Special Thank You” to the wonderful staff at Infinity Hospice and to the two special angels that took such good care of their Mom and Dad throughout their illness.
