BARTON-Mrs. Kathleen Sizemore Barton, age 92, of Gloverville, S.C., wife of the late Kendrell W. Barton and daughter of the late Walter Watt Sizemore and the late Bessie Anderson Sizemore, answered God’s call and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. She is survived by daughters, Patricia (James) Cross of Gloverville, S.C. and Iva (Emmett) Sheppard of Aiken, S.C.; sons, Harry (Dale) Barton of Gloverville, S.C.. Donald (Vonnice) Barton of Burnnettown, S.C. and Tommy (Linda) Barton of Graniteville, S.C.; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Ray Barton; a sister, Mary “Maggie†Barton; a brother, William Sizemore and a great grandson, PFC Nickolas Aaron Tanton. She was born in Williston, S.C. and has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gloverville, S.C. and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class there. The family stated that she was a good, sweet, Christian Mother, who set a good example for them to follow. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 92 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. She has finished her journey and is now at peace with her maker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, August 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Family and friends may also call at the residence of Tommy and Linda Barton in Graniteville, S.C. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held at the First Baptist Church of Gloverville, S.C. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joe Youngblood and Speaker Ronnie Duncan officiating. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Al Norris, W.L. Barden, Tommy Barton, Jr., Woody Barton, Stephen Barton and Darrin Tanton. All of her other grandsons will serve as Honorary pallbearers. The family wishes to extend a “Special Thank You†to Dr. Martinez D. Andino, the nurses and staff of Pepper Hill and her special roommate, Mrs. Maggie for the love and care that they gave their loved one during her stay at Pepper Hill Nursing Home.
