Kathleen Ready George

GEORGE-Mrs. Kathleen Ready George, age 93, of Aiken, S. C., wife of the late John Ralph George and daughter of the late Soloman C. Ready and the late Donnie Elizabeth Still Ready, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Jaudon and Ronald Barker of Aiken, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, John Michael and Elizabeth George of Kershaw, S.C.; sisters, Olive Howe of Aiken, S.C. and Doris Hiers of Barnwell, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Emma Ready of Graniteville, S.C. and Terry Ready of Aiken, S.C.; five grandchildren, John (Margaret) Barker, Robin (Natalie) Barker, Ceanna (Allen) Plyler, Ilean (Kevin) Granada, Ralph (Kelly) George; eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Azilee Brantley; brothers, Emery, Clyde, Bobby and Rodney Ready and a sister-in-law, Hazel Newton. She was born in Barnwell, S.C. and has been a lifetime resident of South Carolina. She was of the Lutheran Faith. During her lifetime, she worked in the clerical field for several different firms; her last position being the Hess Oil Company. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who never met a stranger. She really loved life and people. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the long life that God granted her on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her family and loved ones. She has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with her maker; earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 PM.with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will be private. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to a charity of one’s choice..
