Julian E Mundy

MUNDY-Mr. Julian E. Mundy, age 84 of Aiken, S.C., beloved husband for 65 years to Mageleen Wood Mundy and son of the late Mason Mundy and the late Minnie Scott Mundy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters and sons-in-law; Joyce and John Hartley of Aiken, S.C., Kitty and Truman Clamp of Leesville, S.C. and Carolyn Watson of Batesburg, S.C.; a sister, Ruby Webb Owens of Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren and their spouses, John David Hartley, Jr., Kevin and Kristi Hartley, Belinda and Chris Saul, Timmy and Heather Clamp and Wendy Hall; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by sisters; Matilda Mundy Godfrey, Alma New Snipes, a brother, Sammie Mundy and a son-in-law, Maxie Watson. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was an avid fisherman. He really enjoyed working on cars and next to his family, came his great love for dirt track racing. He was a US Army and Air Force Veteran having served his country during World War II. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and brother, and needless to say, he shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 84 years that God granted him on this earth; however, there is a place awaiting him where life and love never ends. A service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Wood officiating. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park with Military Honors. The pallbearers will be Dean Mundy, Jimmy Mundy, Jr., Tootie Wood, Raymond Wood, Emmett Sheppard and Wil Mundy. The family will receive friends at the daughter, Joyce’s residence in Aiken or at the funeral home this Saturday evening, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
