Juanita Redd Watkins

March 5, 1931 — April 1, 2022

Mrs. Juanita Redd Watkins passed away peacefully Friday April 1, 2022 at her home.

Born in Vaucluse, S.C. to the late Lonnie and Nellie Redd, Juanita was a life long member of The First Baptist Church of Vaucluse where she also sang in the choir, and was the lady’s softball team’s pitcher until 55 years of age. She enjoyed baking cakes, and was famous for her 8-layer chocolate cake and the huge meals she would prepare for her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herbert Watkins; brother, Alonzo (Roberta) Redd; sisters, Lucille Enloe, Evelyn (F.X.) McGahee; and brother-in-law, L.C. Scott.

She is survived by her sons, Don Watkins, Wyman (Courtney) Watkins, Wallace Watkins; brother, Wilbur “Buddy” Redd; sisters Dorothy Scott, Geraldine (Sonny) McDaniel, Barbara (Mike) Togneri; brother-in-law, Harold Enloe; grandchildren, Erin (Joey) Rader, Holley (Brent) Owenby, Caroline (Aaron) Floyd, Brandon Watkins, Brett Watkins, Rylan Watkins, Keaton Watkins; and 6 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held at The First Baptist Church of Vaucluse Monday April 4, 2022 at 2 P.M., with pastors Sonny McDaniel, Gene Daggerhart, and Sean Fulton to officiate, and the burial to follow at Vaucluse Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday April 3, 2022 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Napier Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Watkins, Andy Redd, Brian Redd, Phil Togneri, Eric Wilson, and Carlton McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Widener, Richard Johnson, Stanley Redd, and Richard Abney.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the Agape hospice group, and to her special friend Nancy Wates.
