Joyce Ann Howell

HOWELL-Joyce Ann Howell, age 78, of Aiken, S.C., passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center, after a period of failing health. Joyce, the daughter of the late Thereasa and the late William Howell, was a resident of Lynbrook, Long Island, New York. She was employed by Velzy Associates of Mineola, Long Island, New York, a consulting engineering firm for many years as an Executive Administrative Assistant before retiring and moving to Aiken in 1988. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine. She enjoyed her neighbors, was an avid gardener as she loved working with flowers; and she really loved animals. She was a real people person and was referred to as “Auntie” by many. She shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched. Joyce was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Aiken. There will be no visitation with the family here; and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in New York at a later date.
