Josie Hancock Salters

SALTERS-Mrs. Josie B. Hancock Salters, age 89, of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late Harold A. Salters and daughter of the late Frank and Myrtis Turner Hancock, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She is survived by sons: William R. (Marie) Salters of Aiken, S.C. and Edward H. (Bobbie) Salters of Wagener, S.C.; a daughter. Margaret (Leroy) Anderson of Beech Island, S.C.; a brother, Marvin (Peggy) Hancock of Aiken, S. C.; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was born in Vaucluse, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a retired spinner with Graniteville Company. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S. C. She was a special devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who loved her family with all her heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 89 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends. “To be absent from the body, is to be present with God,” and she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home where all is joy and peace in a land of no goodbyes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, July 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating.
