Joseph L. "Papa Joe" Key, Jr.

Mr. Joseph L. “Papa Joe” Key, Jr., age 76, beloved husband of the late Patsy Toole Key, entered into eternal rest at his home on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 with his family by his side. He is survived by his son, Joseph L. Key III; daughters, Vickie Nettles (Frank), Angie Woodward (Dan), Sherrie Pitts (Phillip); brother, Chester Key; sister, Margaret Robertson; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Leymon, Sr. and Catherine Godbee Key; brother, Tony Jennings; and sister, Ann Mixon. Mr. Key worked as a propane gas service man and loved giving to local charities. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends whose lives he impacted in his 76 years on earth. A gathering will take place on Sunday, March 11th, 2018 from 3-5pm at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends. There will be no formal service.
