Joseph A. Humphreys

November 18, 1935 — August 9, 2020

Joseph A. Humphreys, age 84, of Keysville, Georgia, son of the late Charles Humphreys and the late Josephine Widener Humphreys, entered into eternal rest at University Hospital on Sunday, August 9, 2020. He is survived by a brother, Roy Humphreys; a sister, Hazel Pridgen; a nephew, Michael “Dee” (Sherri) Humphreys and Clint (Marisol) Humphreys; nieces, Tina (Wendell) Hughes and Michelle Humphreys.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Humphreys. He was born in Augusta, Georgia but has been a lifelong resident of Clearwater, S. C.  He retired from Civil Service in the Payroll Dept. at Ft. Gordon, Georgia. He was a proud US Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Belvedere, S.C., where he previously served as the Music Director. He shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 84 precious years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end, as he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A graveside service, celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C., today, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ron McMillian officiating.
