STAUBES-Entered into rest on Saturday, August 14, 2010, Mr. John Herman Staubes, Jr., age 87 of Aiken, S. C., husband of the late Ruth Riley Staubes and son of the late John Herman Staubes, Sr. and the late Bertha Morgan Staubes. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Amy Staubes of Aiken, S. C.; a granddaughter, Beth Kistler and her husband, Bernie of Alpharetta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Bernice Riley of Aiken, S.C.; a special cousin, Florence Usery and a number of nieces and nephews. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S. C. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a US Army Veteran having served his county during World War II. He was a retired self-employed electrical Contractor by trade; he and his son doing business as Staubes’ Electric Co. for many years. He was a real congenial person, who never met a stranger, and he always had a good story to share with you; thus, this trait yielded him many friends. Herman, as he was so fondly known by his family and friends, shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 87 years that God granted him on this earth; however life for him has not ended; he has just made a transition to his eternal home. The burial will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral with the family. Memorials, in Mr. Staubes’ honor, may be made to The Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Avenue, NW., Aiken, S. C. 29801.
