John P "J P" Harris

HARRIS-John P. “J. P.” Harris, age 68 of Aiken, S.C., loving husband of Mary Bodie Harris and son of the late John Pink Harris and the late India Oglesby Harris, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a daughter, Penny (Charlie) Kaylor; sons, Wayne (Teresa) Harris and John W. Harris; sisters, Gen (Ben) Rhoden, Ophelia Wessinger, Janie Reece, Judy (Luther) Blackwell and Pearl (Donald) Porter; a brother, Leonard Harris and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Donie Cook and Josephine Harris and a brother, Bobby Ray Harris. He was born in Edgefield County, S.C. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from SRS after over 30 years of dedicated service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 68 years that God granted him this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. He has now left the side of his family to be with his Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ.
