Jimmie C. "Hoot" Gibson

GIBSON-Jimmie C. “Hoot” Gibson, age 77, of Grovetown, Ga., loving husband of Edna Daniels Gibson and son of the late Frankie Gibson and the late Jeanette Benson Gibson, entered into rest on Monday, November 23, 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Donna Rhodes of Grovetown, Ga. and Kim Miller of Trenton, S.C.; sisters, Sue (Jack) Blue of Evans, Ga., Gloria (Ronnie) Owens of Augusta, Ga., Carol (Tommie) Crabb of Martinez, Ga. and Donna (David) Shirling of Appling, Ga.; brothers, Otis (Carol) Gibson of Gloverville, S.C., Frankie (Helen) Gibson of Hephzibah, Ga., Charles (Darlene) Gibson of North Augusta, S.C. and David Gibson of Plum Branch, S.C.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters, Vonda Jackson and Lynn Molleur. He was born in Graniteville, S.C. but had lived in various states during his lifetime. He was a retired Warehouse Supervisor with Daniels Construction Co. He was a US Army and Navy Veteran having served three years in the Navy and two in the Army. He was a member of Belair Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #77. He was a diehard Clemson Tiger Fan and an avid golfer. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 77 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday evening, November 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Brooks officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Matthew Wright, Paul Drake, Otis Gibson, Ronnie Hall, Jerry Hall and Justin Rhodes.
