Jimmie "Buddy" Drakeford

DRAKEFORD-Mr. Jimmie Drakeford, age 68, of Langley, S.C., loving husband of Cathleen Nickel Drakeford and son of the late Neal Drakeford and the late Addie Bell Blackwell Drakeford, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 22, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Marina (Robert) Rooney of Denver, Colorado and Jennifer (Larry Dean) Jones of Burnettown, S.C.; a sister, Jackie Redmond of Warrenville, S.C.; four grandsons, Dawson Rooney, Bailen, Branson & Hunter Jones. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was walking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 68 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end for a Christian, as God has promised eternal life for all who believe on Him, and his memories shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, September 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at the Warrenville Cemetery on Monday, September 24th at 5:00 PM with Rev. Earl Carter officiating.
