Jessie Mae Fields Hancock

HANCOCK-Jessie Mae Fields Hancock, age 83, of Trenton, S.C., loving wife of Joe Hancock, Jr. and daughter of the late Jessie Fields and the late Ida Franklin Fields, entered into the arms of Jesus with her family by her side, on Monday, December 12, 2016. In addition to her husband, who stated that he and Jessie Mae had just celebrated 59 ½ years of marriage on December 6th, she is survived by daughters , Ivonia B. Wright and Ida M. Jackson; sisters, Lucille Lamb, Jane Franklin and Ida Pearl Fields; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was born in Edgefield, S.C., a fifth generation, and has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. Her family stated that she loved anything to do with the outdoors whether it be gardening, fishing or just whatever. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family with all her heart, and they inturn loved her. She shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 83 precious years that God granted her on this year. Life for her has not ended, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home, where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, December 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing will be held at Eureka Baptist Church in Eureka, S.C. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Arthur officiating.
