Jerome R. " Jerry" Smith

SMITH- Jerome R. (Jerry) Smith, age 62, of Aiken, S.C., beloved husband of forty-two years to Marilyn Usry Smith, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He had fought a courageous battle against lung cancer for fourteen years. Born in Newport News, Virginia, he was the son of Elizabeth F. Smith and the late Henry A. Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Smith (Tony) DiBias, his son, Joseph “Jay” (Amanda) Smith and his grandchildren, Connor R. Donahue, Riley E. Travis, Hunter A. Smith, Jordan M. Smith, Madolyn DiBias, Charlie DiBias and Lily DiBias. He is also survived by his brothers, David A. Smith, Michael J. Smith and Christopher L. Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen H. Smith. Funeral services are planned for Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Napier Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Palmer officiating. The burial will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Although there will be no viewing, the family will receive visitors at the funeral home thirty minutes prior to the service and afterward at the family residence, 205 Sessions Drive, Aiken, S.C.
