"Bub" Leopard, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 18, 2014. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters, Brooke Carr of Warrenville, S.C. and Danielle (Brannon) Walton of North Augusta, S.C.; a son Trey Leopard of Warrenville, S.C.; a sister, Jamie (Eric) Hartley of Warrenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Kathryn-Grace Walton and Brooklyn Walton; nieces, Erin & Emily Hartley. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He retired from Burke County EMA after 20 years of dedicated service. He started his career in firefighting by working for the Langley Fire Dept. from 1979 to 2005. He served as Fire Chief from 2001 to 2005, after which he left a job he loved because of declining health. He enjoyed working with young people as was evidenced by his coaching softball for MVRA. He shall be greatly missed by his family and many friends; however, death is not the end, as God has promised eternal life for all who believe and trust in Him. He has finished life's journey and is now at peace with his maker. The family will receive friends at the Gloverville First Baptist Church, 2212 Augusta Rd., Gloverville, S.C. this Monday evening, January 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life will be held at the church on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Napier officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be members of Burke County EMA; Sean Falcon, Rudy Hammett, Jim White, Kevin Flakes, Bill Tinsley and Benny Shelton. Members of the Langley Fire Dept. will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family would like to extend a "Special Thank You" to the Intensive Care nurses and doctors at Aiken Regional Medical Center for the great care that was given their loved one during his stay there. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 500 Taylor St., Suite 101, Columbia, S.C. 29201. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
