MONTGOMERY-Ms. Jean Williams Montgomery, age 88, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late James Lewis Montgomery and daughter of the late John Williams and the late Lillian Smith Williams, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 2, 2011. She is survived by daughters; Beverly (Ronald) Williams of Graniteville, Gloria Hope of Graniteville and Ann (Jerry) Tillison of Marietta, Ga.; a son, Jimmy Montgomery of Graniteville; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Williams and a sister, Jackie Carr. She was born in Athens, Georgia. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She shall be greatly missed by her family and friends; however, her life has not ended as she has just made a transition to her new eternal home. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The pallbearers will be Donnie Carr, Eddie Williams, Phil Staughm, Carl Lowe, Ron Williams and James Montgomery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, October 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in Mrs. Montgomery’s memory, may be made to the church, P. O. Box 38, Graniteville, S.C. 29829. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
