Janice I Taylor

December 31, 1969 — June 14, 2012

TAYLOR-Miss Janice I. Taylor, age 73, of Warrenville, S. C., daughter of the late Frank Taylor and the late Rhoda Newton Taylor, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 14, 2012. She is survived by a sister Patsy Urquhart of Martinez, Ga.; brothers, Julian (Martha) of Irmo, S.C. and Robert Taylor of Aiken, S.C.; nieces, Tiffany, Danielle, Heather, Mindy and Rose; a nephew, Joshua; a number of great nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Jewel Clark and Joann Sealy. She was born in Aiken County, S.C. She graduated from Leavelle McCampbell High School in 1957, and she held a Masters Degree in education from Winthrop College. She taught in Elementary School in the Aiken County Public School District for over 30 years; 20 of which was devoted to special education. She was a lifetime member of Warrenville First Baptist Church, where she worked closely with the youth, was director of Vacation Bible School for many years and sang in the church choir. Yes, Janice was a giver and a true servant of God. In her mother’s last years on this earth, Janice proudly served as her faithful and loving caregiver. In keeping with doing for others, she even made wedding dresses and baked wedding cakes for local brides. Her motto could have very easily been the old hymn “Others” because, she was always doing and thinking of others. The family stated that she was a loving sister, aunt and friend. Needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 73 years that God granted her on this earth; however, life for her has not ended, she has just made a transition to her new Heavenly home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening, June 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Warrenville First Baptist Church with Rev. J. B. Redd and Rev. Arthur Zawislak officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Harold Hutto, Richard Walling, Rudy Cook, Bobby Hydrick, Buddy Smith and W. H. Kirkland. Memorials, in Janice’s honor, may be made to the Warrenville First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 325, Warrenville, S.C. 29851.
