REESE-Janet Newman Reese, age 65, of Aiken, S.C., loving wife of Varner Jerome Neal, Jr. and daughter of the late Murray Newman and the late Vera Thompson Newman, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Saturday, January 2, 2016. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Thomas (Roberta) Newman of Aiken, S.C.; daughters, Mary “Becky” Neal of Augusta, Ga., Terrie (Troy) Rhodes of Waynesboro, GA; a sister, Jackie Rowe of Utah; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson, Jayden. She was born in and was a lifetime resident of Augusta, Ga., having lived in Aiken County for only a short time. She was of the Methodist Faith. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family stated that she loved her dogs, especially P. J. She shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 65 years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her loved ones. A service, celebrating her life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Birdie Altman officiating. The interment will be private.
