James Fred Stewart

December 31, 1969 — June 19, 2014

STEWART - Mr. James Fred Stewart, age 100, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband of Mildred Anderson Wall Stewart and son of the late James Samuel Stewart and the late Mannie Pearl Shirley, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 19, 2014. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Dorothy Boone of Aiken, S.C. and Janet Peck of St. Cloud, Florida; stepdaughter, Gayle Rubin of St. New Jersey; stepsons, Paul Sharpton of Beech Island, S.C., Vance Wall of Atlanta, Ga. and Mark Wall of Langley, S.C.; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife for over 54 years, Martha Pennington Stewart and a daughter, Carolyn S. Firebaugh. He was born in Keysville, Ga. but has been a resident of Aiken County for the past 65 years. He retired from the Maintenance Dept. of DuPont. He was a member of Warrenville Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 100 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end for the Christian as he has just finished his journey and is now at peace with his Maker. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening, June 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Skelton officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The Pallbearers will be Tom Boone, Earl Peck, James A. Harper, David Wilson, Brandon A. Harper and Cameron Fulford. The Honorary Pallbearers will be J. Maureen Henderson, William C. Harper and Spencer Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warrenville Church of God, 115 Cemetery Rd., Warrenville, S.C. 29851 or Trinity Hospice (Aiken) 690 Medical Park Dr., Suite 400, Aiken, S.C. 29801.
