Mr. James “Jimmy” William Rhoads Jr., 84, entered into rest Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
Born in Graniteville, S.C. to the late Mattie Siegler and James Williams Rhoads Sr. Jimmy enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 and served honorably for 3 years, after which he married the love of his life, Mrs. Sibley Rhoads. Jimmy was known as a comedian and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed camping, fishing, dirt track racing, and traveling to the mountains. He’s been a devoted member of Christian Heritage Church for 34 years. More than anything else he was a family man that loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Donnie James Davis and Megan Rhoads; brother-in-law, Hilton Yonn, and sister-in-law, Jennie Rhoads; and friend, who was like a daughter to him, Sandra Holley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Sibley Rhoads; son, Christopher J. (Renee) Rhoads; daughter, Pam Davis; brothers, Eddie Rhoads, and Wayne (Jean) Rhoads; sister, Billie Yonn; grandchildren, Lorie (Steve) Baynham, Torie (Jerry) Allen, and Laura-Ashley Rhoads; great-grandchildren, Jerry (Kaleigh) Allen 3rd, Caleb Usry, Lane Allen, DeL Allen,BryAnna Baynham, Balyn Baynham, and Law Stoll; and great-great-grandchildren, KayLon Usry, and Alexander McFadden.
A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, 4 P.M. at Christian Heritage Church with pastor Jody Padgett and Jonathan Randall to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. The burial to follow at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scrapper Craig, Ronald Barton, Lauren Rhoads, Michael Yonn, Patrick Barton, Keith Barton, Tommy Cato, and Steven Baynham. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Graniteville Rockers.
