James "Bobby" Anderson

ANDERSON-James Robert “Bobby” Anderson, Sr.,, age 77, of Warrenville, S.C., husband of the late Patricia Brewer Anderson and son of the late Johnnie J. Anderson and the late Dorothy Johnson Anderson, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He is survived by daughters, Penney (Russell) Powell of Graniteville, S.C. and Kay (Erik) Galloway of New Ellenton, S.C.; a son, James R. (JoAnne) Anderson, Jr. of Warrenville, S.C..; a sister, Shelby Proctor of Gloverville, S.C., six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Cumbee, a granddaughter, Laura Willing and a brother, Ben Anderson. He was born in Madison, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic from Graniteville Company with 46 years of dedicated service. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of Howlandville Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World, and he was one of the founding members of the GVW Volunteer Fire Department, having joined when it was first organized in the seventies. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 77 precious years that God granted him on this earth. He has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with his maker, which does not remove the hurt for the family but it’s a consolation knowing that he is in a better place. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening, April 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19,2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Phillips and Rev. Doug Puckett officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Members of the GVW Fire Department will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Proctor, Tommy Proctor, Jerry Burckhalter, Luke Corley and B. W. Swearingen.
