Mr. Hubert Edward “Ed” Renew, age 71, of Graniteville, S.C., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 5th, 2018. He is survived by a daughter, Myranda (Chad) Jordan of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Lois Morrison of Graniteville, S.C.; step son, Billy Leopard, of Savannah, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert J. Renew and Margie Amanda Porter Renew; a sister, Lynn Montgomery and a brother-in-law, Mike Morrison. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post #77 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was a Navy Veteran. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a proud grandfather and the very best Dad in the whole wide world to his daughter. He was a very loving person, who cared for his family, friends and his fellowman; a man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 71 years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end as his memories shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Speaker, Jonathan Montgomery officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be nephews, Michael and Clint Morrison; also Billy Leopard, Johnnie Efird, Chris Byars and Nick Cribb. Donald Hatcher and members of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Dept. will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family will also gather Tuesday evening, January 8th, 2019 from 6-8 pm at 122 Gregg Ave. Aiken, SC 29801. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aiken County Sheriffs Office in Mr. Renew's memory.
