Herman "Danny" Atkiinson

ATKINSON-Herman “Danny” Atkinson, age 66, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband of Katherine Johnson Atkinson and son of the late Hillman Atkinson and the late Epsie Bryant Atkinson, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, DeWayne Atkinson of Gloverville, S.C., Daniel Lee Atkinson, Donnie Atkinson and Hillman “Pee Wee” (Sylvia) Atkinson all of Aiken, S.C.; stepdaughters, Maria Brown of Windsor, S.C. and April (Dondi) McCormick of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Mildred (Stump)Ford of Aiken, S.C., a grandchild, Cheyenne Atkinson; twelve step-grandchildren and one step-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was an air conditioning Technician by trade having worked for several different companies during his working career; the last company being Bradley Plumbing & Heating Company. He was a member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. One of his hobbies, which he really enjoyed, was raising his prize roosters. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his short lifespan; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. A service, celebrating his life, will be held at Hollow Creek Baptist Church on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Emmett George and Rev. Ernest Lewis Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at the Church Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Felton Craig, Buster Key, Michael Franklin, Brian Adams, Ernest Ray Johnson and Jessie Rumbley.
