JOHNSON-Mr. Harvey D. Johnson, age 77, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband of Fannie Collins Johnson and son of the late Harvey C. Johnson and the late Lucille Singletary Johnson, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Thursday, October 16, 2014. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters; Kathy (Shawn) Holley of Windsor, S.C. and Donna J. Frew of Aiken, S.C.; a son, Tommy (Barbara) Johnson of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Martha (John) Holter of Lancaster, California, Mary (Dennis) Miller of New Ellenton, ,S.C. and Catherine (Kenneth) Riggs of Aiken, S.C.; brothers, William (Marilyn) Johnson, Jim (Gladys) Johnson, Carl (Patricia) Johnson all of Aiken, S.C. and Jerry (Helen) Johnson of Warrenville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Dewayne (Molly) Jones, Alison (Paul) Jackson and Cameron (Janet) Johnson; four great grandchildren, Sam and Luke Jones, Wyatt Jackson and Clayton Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wendell (Johnson) Spivey. He was born in Columbus, Georgia but has spent most of life in Aiken County, S.C. He was of the Methodist Faith. He held several different jobs during his working years; the most recent and the one that he was well known for owning and operating for 25 years, was Kalmia Exxon in Aiken, S.C. He always gave A-l service and with a heart gold, would always do anything he could to help anybody. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his lifetime on earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A graveside service will be held at the Vaucluse Cemetery in Vaucluse, S.C at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2014 with Rev. Jim Bennett officiating. In honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation with the family at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a “Heartfelt Thank You” to Barbara West and Tidewater Hospice of Aiken, S.C. for the wonderful care that they gave to their loved one during his illness.
