GRACE WILLIS COOK

December 31, 1969 — January 10, 2011

COOK-Ms. Grace Elizabeth Willis Cook of Aiken, S.C., entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Willis and the late Ellen Rish Willis. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Buddy Koon of Warrenville, S.C.; a sister, Martha New of Aiken, S.C.; a granddaughter, Gracelyn Taylor and her husband, Blake; three great grandchildren, Brayden, Madelyn and Colton.. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Kenny and Bobby Willis and three sisters, Norma Blackwell, Jean Richardson and Sue Bentley. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a retired seamstress. She was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church in Aiken. She was an avid gardener and a lover of nature as she could tell you the name of every flower, every bird even the name of all butterflies. She loved to crochet, and she also enjoyed quilting. She was a dear mother, sister and grandmother. She will truly be missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during her lifetime on this earth; however, life for her has not ended; she has just made a transition to her new Heavenly home. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Joe T. Youngblood and speaker, Edward Blackwell officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:30 PM, after which time the procession will be leaving to go to the graveside for the service.
