WILLIAMS-Ms. Gladys Barrs Williams, age 88, of Graniteville, S. C., went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 10, 2011. She is survived by a son, Jimmy B. (Phyllis) Williams of Graniteville, S.C.; a daughter, Annette Wiggins of Graniteville, S.C.; a sister, Claudette Ippolito of Maryland; a brother, Anderson Barrs of Michigan; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Blanche Wilson and Delane Mitchum and a brother, Frank Barrs. She was born in Lexington, S.C. on July 8, 1923. She was a chartered member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church. She was known by those who loved her as being a woman who was passionate about her family, faith, and career. In 1961, she graduated from nursing school and found much joy in caring for others until her retirement from University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. in 1985. She leaves a rich heritage for her family; and needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by them and all whose lives she touched during the 88 fruitful years that God granted her on this earth. Life for her has not ended with death, as she has just made a transition to her Heavenly home where life and love never ends. A service celebrating her life will be held at Napier Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2011, with her grandson, Rev. Shane Williams officiating. The interment will follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Ed Berry, Sr., Tim Goodwin, Charles D. Hurt, Ronnie Kirk, Ed Wheaton and Earl Wilson.
