Gladys Boone Kaney

KANEY-Mrs. Gladys Louise Boone Kaney, age 63, entered peacefully into rest, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, October 2, 2011. She is the beloved wife of Michael T. Kaney, Sr. and the daughter of the late George Boone, Sr. and the late Martha Ellen Randall Anderson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Gwen Kaney of Aiken, S.C. and Tina Logue of Gloverville, S.C.; a son, Michael Kaney, Jr. of Greer, S.C.; sisters, Sarah Westmoreland of Windsor, S.C. and Sherri Griffin of Couchton, S.C.; brothers, George Boone, Jr. of Barnwell, S.C., James Williams of Aiken, S.C., Thurmond Murray, Jr. of Aiken, S.C. and Harvey Boone of Clearwater, S.C.; a special niece, Laura Fischer of Langley, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, Travis Henson, Bryson Chapman, Morgan Kaney, Chevy, Henry & Bentli VanWinkle, Ashley & Tony Logue, David Mikell, Amanda & Christy Mikell, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Dump” Mikell, Jr. She was born in and has been a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She really enjoyed being with her grandchildren; but she also made sure they behaved, and she didn’t spare the rod when needed. Needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by her family and many friends; however, she shall live on forever in their hearts. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with family members presenting her eulogy. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Michael Kaney, Craig Metcalf, Travis Henson and Tony Chapman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, October 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Family and friends may also call at the daughter’s (Gwen Kaney) residence, phone # 644-9156.
