WILLIAMS-Mr. Gerald Ray Williams, age 80, of North Augusta, S.C., beloved husband of Julia “Judy” W. Williams and son of the late Clifford C. Williams and the late Genelle Gardener Williams, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gerald Williams II, and his wife, Terri of Martinez, Georgia; a daughter, Lisa Williams Lauro of Grottoes, Virginia; grandchildren, Daniel Lauro, Mark Lauro and Christine Giacone; great grandchildren, Caleb Lauro, Myles Lauro and Gavin Lauro. He was born in Graniteville, S.C. and has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a US Army Veteran, having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from SRP DuPont Company in Aiken, S.C. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, S.C. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very caring and giving person; yes, always doing what he could to help his fellowman. The world could use a lot more dedicated Christians like Mr.Williams. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and all whose lives he touched during the 80 years that God granted him on this earth; however, life for him has not ended, as he has just made a transition to his Heavenly home, where life and love never ends and a “Crown of Life” awaits him. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and he is now rejoicing on streets of gold. A service celebrating his life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM with his nephew, Rev. Shane Williams, officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening, April 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
