CATO-George R. Cato, age 64, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for eighteen years to Joyce A. Snipes Cato and son of the late James H. Cato and the late Bertha Randall Cato, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 2, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Todd (Jennifer) Hutto of North Augusta, S.C.; daughters, Shelly Cato (Michael) Williams of Trenton, S.C., Amanda Gauthier (Chuck) Hendrix of Aiken, S.C. and Tammy Adams Cato of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Wayne (Winnie) Brantley of North Augusta, S.C.; a sister, Nancy Cato (Mark) Taylor of Athens, Ga.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was born in Augusta, Ga. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a retired Truck Driver with CVS and a US Army Veteran. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who loved his family supremely. He shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 64 years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end as God has promised eternal life for all who believe in Him, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A graveside service will be held at Aiken Memorial Park in Aiken, S.C. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 12:00 Noon. The Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Alan Snipes, Chuck Hendrix, Todd Hutto,Orrin Williams and Leroy Brown. Employees and friends of the Waffle House on Hwy. #l in Aiken will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the day of the service from 11:00 until 11:30 AM, at which time the funeral procession will be leaving for the service at Aiken Memorial Park.
