Mr. Gene Earl Riley, age 74, entered into rest on Sunday September 15, 2024.
He is survived by his son, Keith (Janice) Riley; grandchildren, Morgan (Chad) Coleman; Lauren Riley; great grandchildren, Cooper Sherman, Mason Burris; sisters, Geneva Riley (Douglas) Greene, Georgie Riley (Jimmie) Lewis; two nieces and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George I. and Gertrude Shealy Riley; and brother, Gerald C. Riley.
Mr. Riley was a "working man" and strong provider for his family. He worked for over 40 years at Graniteville Company as a maintenance supervisor. He was known for his "corny" jokes and his love for cold beer. Throughout the years he would often use the phrase "I'm on the road again" when he would get ready to head out. On September 15, 2024, Mr. Riley was "on the road again", as he left for his eternal home. He will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he impacted.
A funeral service honoring his life and legacy will be held on Wednesday September 18, 2024 in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 4pm with Tim Harley officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Thompson, Chad Coleman, Tim Whittle, Marty Silvers, Patrick Simpson and Bill Simpson.
