Gail Whisenant Simpson

Mrs. Gail Whisenant Simpson, age 82, loving wife for 68 wonderful years to Samuel “Sonny/Suitcase” Simpson and daughter of the late William Peter Whisenant and the late Lola Mae Fulmer Whisenant, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, June 7, 2018. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Linda Meyers of Graniteville, S.C. and Dawn (Mike) Mills of Lenoir City, TN; sons, William “Bill” (Gwen) Simpson and Patrick (Donna) Simpson both of Graniteville, S.C.; a sister, Jean Bahlhorn of Graniteville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and her very loving pet dog, Rusty. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen S. Derrick. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family especially her children, grandchildren and of course, her pet, Rusty with all her heart. Infact, she just loved everybody, as she never met a stranger. She retired from Walmart with more than 25 years of service. Her favorite eating place was the Blue Top Restaurant. She was a well-rounded lady who loved living. She had many hobbies; a couple of her favorites were dancing and working in her flower garden. Yes, a lady of her caliber shall be greatly missed by her family, many friends and all whose lives she touched during the 82 years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the lives of her loved ones. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. The interment will follow at the Historical Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Slater Simpson, David Anderson, Kent Overstreet, Robin Cowart, Zach Seawright and Bobby Meyers, Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
