Frances Turner McGahee

McGahee-Frances Turner McGahee, age 80, of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late Heber Eben McGahee and daughter of the late James William Turner and the late Vera Davis Turner, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. She is survived by sons, James Eben McGahee of Aiken, S.C. and Howard Dean McGahee of Ocala, Florida; daughter, Vera McGahee New; brothers, William L. Turner of Columbia, S.C. and James R. Turner of Mississippi; grandsons, Ron Eben McGahee, Nick New, and Lewis New; granddaughter, Andrea Bush and three great grandchildren. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. Her family stated that in spite of her early childhood illnesses, she overcame all obstacles to become a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was courageous in her final days in her battle against cancer; only surrendering to the disease when Jesus called her home to be with her parents and husband. She shall be greatly missed by her family and friends but there is a consolation in knowing that they can see her again one day. Earth's loss is truly Heaven's gain. A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tad Marshall officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Rudy Cook, Jimmy Funderburg, Johnny Bates, Charles Bechtold, Bernard Roland and Ron McGahee.
