Mrs. Faye Matthews Hudson of Graniteville, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday May 15, 2021.
Born in 1941 to the late William Travis Matthews, and the late Ora Lee Douglas Matthews. Mrs. Hudson was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, and a devoted member of St. John United Methodist Church. She loved her faithful furbaby Bear. Along with her late husband, she was a member of Woodmen of the World. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Ray T. Hudson; her parents; sisters Debra McKay, and Shirley Widener, and niece Missy Boatwright.
She is survived by her son Robert Ray (Yvonne) Hudson; daughter Ashley Hudson (Ian) Bowles; brothers William “Buddy” (Katherine) Matthews, Carroll Matthews; grandchildren Devon (Shelby Cameron) Hudson, Chase (Caitlin) Hudson, Ryan (Alysaun) Buffett, and Eric (Kimberly) Buffett; great-grandchildren Keagan Hudson, Oaklyn Hudson, Jace Buffett, Maddax Buffett, Makynna Buffett, and Sloane Buffett; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville, SC. Wednesday May 19th, 2021 at 3 P.M., with a visitation to be held at the church one hour prior. Pastor Alan Quarles to officiate. The burial will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 18 Gregg St. Graniteville, SC 29829, in her memory.
