SICHAU-Ewald Sichau, age 79, of Aiken, S. C., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2014. He was the loving husband of 55 years to his wife Liliane. Born in West Prussia in 1934, Ewald emigrated to America in 1953 and became a proud United States Citizen.
Ewald was a U.S. Army Veteran, an upholsterer by trade and a small business owner, in Torrington, Ct. He retired and moved to Aiken in 2006. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken and a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge.
Ewald was the son of the late Adolf Sichau and Martha Bendlin Sichau. In addition to his wife, Ewald is survived by his children, Ronald Sichau and his wife, Vickie, Gary Sichau and Angelica Matney and her husband, Michael. He is also survived by sisters, Selma (Donald) Grover and Meta (Jim) Mueller; grandsons, Nicholas and Nathaniel and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elsa Hanusch.
Ewald shall be greatly missed by his family and friends; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. He has finished his journey and is now at peace with his maker.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken, S.C. on Wednesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Byrne officiating. The interment will be private.
