Evelyn Knight Abney

ABNEY-Ms. Evelyn Knight Abney, age 95, of Warrenville, S.C., wife of the late Wyman Abney and daughter of the late Lester Knight and the late Vera Copeland Knight, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She is survived by a daughter, Doris (Calvin) Shealey of Graniteville, S.C.; sons, David “Pot” Abney and Benjamin “Ben” (Marvell) Abney both of Warrenville, S.C.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Warrenville Church of God. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She was a real Godly woman who set an example for her family, as she read her Bible every day. She shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 95 precious years that God granted her on this earth. Death is not the end for her as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home, where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. Heaven has just gained another Angel, and earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16th at 3:00 PM with Rev. Robert Skelton officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
