BURTON-Mr. Eugene Burton, age 71 of Aiken, S. C., husband of the late Betty Mattox Burton and son the late Fleming O. Burton and the late Conjetta C. Burton, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 27, 2010. He is survived by daughters and a son-in-law, Gina and William Regan and Carla Cribb all of Aiken, S.C.; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Yvette Cribb and two grandsons, Gale Cribb and Louis Cribb. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Swint Division of Graniteville Company. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a very kind person; and he had a heart of gold, as he would give you the shirt off his back if he felt that you needed it. He never met a stranger and this quality yielded him many friends. Yes, Eugene Burton will be greatly missed by by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched during the 71 years that God granted him on this earth; however, his life has not ended, just only begun in a better land with no more pain or sorrow. Yes, the gift of God is eternal life. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Graniteville Cemetery with Speaker Steve Woodward officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Wednesday, December 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, S. C. 29605. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside on Thursday by 1:45 PM. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.
