Anderson and the late Lula Bridgers Anderson, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 28, 2012. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; James (Barbara) Britt, Gerald (Earline) Britt of Warrenville, Ladd (Judy) Britt of Beech Island and David Wayne (Sally) Britt of Augusta, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn (Tom) Taylor and Kay A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild. He was born in Warrenville and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a member of Warrenville United Methodist Church. He was a retired Supervisor with Graniteville Company. He was a US Army Veteran, having bravely served his country during World War II, and during this service, he received the Bronze Service Star, along with several other medals. Mr. Roy, as he was so fondly known to his many friends, had a winning smile for everyone, and of course, he never met a stranger. He was a loving father, grandfather and truly a Southern Gentleman in every respect. Yes, a sage has passed, and everyone mourns to lose such a fine man and friend; however, life for Mr. Roy has not ended; just only begun in a better land with no more pain nor sorrow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, May 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Memorials, in Mr. Roy’s honor, may be made to the Alzeheimer’s Assoc., 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, Ga. 30904 or to the Warrenville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 473, Warrenville, S.C. 29851.
