Emery Ready

READY-Mr. Emery Ready, age 89, of Graniteville, S.C., beloved husband of Emma Lucas Ready and son of the late Solomon C. and Donnie Elizabeth Still Ready, entered into eternal rest at Aiken Regional Medical Center on Saturday February 11, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Wayne Eubanks of Vaucluse, S.C.; sisters, Kathleen George and Olive Howe both of Aiken, S.C. and Doris Hiers of Barnwell, S.C.; grandchildren, Clay (Traci) Eubanks of Appling, Ga., Cody (Heather) Eubanks of Aiken, S. C. and Cory (Mallory) Guilfoyle of North Augusta, S.C.; great grandchildren, Dayton, Chandler and Madison Eubanks. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryle D. Ready. He was born in Graniteville, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville and a member of the Adult Men’s class there. He retired as a foreman with Avondale Mills with 40 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran having proudly served his country during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Needless to say, he shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 89 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, there is a consolation in knowing that life does not end with death, as the gift of God is eternal life. His family can one day see him again; but for now, fond memories of him shall live on forever in their hearts. A service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, February 14th at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville with Rev. James L. Young officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be his nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Monday evening, February 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in Mr. Ready’s honor, may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 96, Graniteville. S.C. 29829. Mr. Ready will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
