Ellene Simpson

Ellene Merritt Simpson, age 87 of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late Edward Simpson and daughter of the late Thomas Merritt and the late Ellen Johnson Merritt, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 11, 2020. She is survived by a son, Timothy Augustus Simpson; a daughter, Helen Simpson (Larry) Mathis; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Joseph Simpson and Robbie Edward Simpson. She was a member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church in Graniteville. Her hobbies included working in her flower garden. She truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they were her joy in life. She shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.  Death is not the end, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly Home, where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. A graveside service, celebrating her life, will be held at the Graniteville Cemetery on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Phillip Napier officiating. There will be no formal visitation with the family at the funeral home.
