Ella Jane Newsome Ussery

The funeral service for Mrs. Ussery has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 28, at 10 A.M. at Warrenville First Baptist Church. The interment will be private. 

Mrs. Ella Jane Newsome Ussery, age 100, entered into rest on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Mrs. Ussery is preceded in death by her husband of seven months, Austin Frank Ussery and her husband of 40 years, Allen E. Newsome; a son, Rev. Edward A. Newsome; a stepson, Don Ussery, her parents, William Barry Johnson and Essie Glaze Johnson; five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Robert) Newsome Huffman; daughter-in-law, Becky Newsome; one stepdaughter, Janice (Rick) Kellstrom; one stepson, Tim Ussery; three grandchildren, Joshua Huffman, Jason (Candice) Newsome and Patrick (Kristi) Newsome; two step-grandsons, Derrick (Ashley) Kellstrom and Craig Kellstrom; seven great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ava, Palmer, Nick, Carlie and Tyler Newsome; one step-great granddaughter, Charlotte Kellstrom; one sister-in-law, Dot (Glenn) Thomas; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; a special niece, Lynn Proctor; special and dear friends, Janice Lynn Hopper, Judy and Josh VanBuren, Donna Hutto, Joanne Yeater, Naomi, Francis and Frankie Beauer.

Mrs. Ussery was a native of Graniteville, SC, having made Warrenville, SC her home for the past 62 years. She retired from the Graniteville Company after 39 years. After her retirement, she worked with the Foster Grandparent program for five years. She was a dedicated member of Warrenville First Baptist Church for 91 years and the Leisure Club. Mrs. Ussery enjoyed reading and studying her Bible and doing word search puzzles.

The funeral service for Mrs. Ussery will be conducted Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10 A.M. at Warrenville First Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Pym, Rev. Steve Simpson and Rev. Bobby Broach officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Francis Beauer, Frankie Beauer, Patrick Newsome, Jason Newsome, John Quattlebaum, Joshua Huffman and Al Norris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Rudy Cook Sunday School Class.
