BELL-Ms. Ella Semelka Bell, age 93, of Graniteville, S. C., widow of the late Clyde Bell and daughter of the late Anthony and Louise Chlopek Semelka, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 9, 2011. She is survived by a son, Richard (Barbara) Phillips of Aiken; daughters, Sharon (David) Handy of Warrenville and Patricia “Patsy†(Martin) Sawyer of Graniteville; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Semelka. She was born in Grant County, Arkansas but has lived most of her life in Graniteville, S.C. She was retired from Graniteville Company. She was a W.A.C. having served her country during World War II. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was very plain spoken, but you always knew where you stood with her and even at her age, her mind was as sharp as a tack. Needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 93 years that God granted her on this earth; however, there is a consolation in knowing that she has now gone to a better place to receive her much deserved “Crown of Lifeâ€, and even though she will no longer be present on this earth, she shall live on in the hearts of her family and many friends. A private graveside service will be held for the family with Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. Family and friends may call at the grandson’s residence (Dennis Batchelor) 529 Wickham Dr., Graniteville, S. C. 29829, phone # 593-7356. In keeping with Ms. Bell’s request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S. C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
