Dorothy Minor Napier

Ms. Dorothy Minor Napier, age 90, beloved wife of 57 years to the late William Lewis Napier, entered into rest on Wednesday January 20, 2021.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Tracy (Bryan) Kneece, Randi (Austin) Bouknight and Ralph (Jennifer) Chapman; great - grandchildren, Cody (Mandy) Kneece, Casey (Heather) Kneece, Nathan & Molly Bouknight, Faith & Ethan Chapman; great-great grandchildren, Bristol Kneece and Ensley Kneece; nieces, Barbara Moore, Jayne Maas, JoAlla Gold; and nephews, Jack Hamilton, Jack L. Minor, Jr. and Mike Hamilton.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, William Casey Napier; daughter, Lydia Napier Griffith; parents, Rufus T. “Hess” and Nellie Randall Minor; brothers, Jack L. and Jerry R. Minor; and sisters, Irene Hamilton, Louise Denny.

Ms. Napier worked as an insurance specialist for the Dillard’s Department Store. “Dot & Nap”, lovingly known by their family, enjoyed fishing at Clark Hill. She was a loving person and will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday January 28, 2021 at 3pm with Pastor Stephen Phillips officiating, at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery with interment to follow. 

​The family would like to extend a thanks to the Hitchcock Place Assisted Living and Encompass Hospice for there care of Ms. Napier during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association at: 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17. Chicago Il 60601, in Memory of Ms. Dorothy M. Napier.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the current pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing are encouraged for the service.
