BLACKMON-Mrs. Dorothy Jay Blackmon, age 83, of Warrenville, S. C., loving wife for 65 wonderful years to Aulsie “A. G.” Blackmon and daughter of the late Carlos E. Jay and the late Lessie Hutto Jay, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 23, 2012. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Margie Blackmon of Mokena, Illinois, Bruce and Kathleen Blackmon of Aiken, S.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Roma Jay of Aiken, S.C. and David Jay of Rockingham, N.C.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Blackmon. Dot, as she was so fondly known to her family and friends, was born in Orangeburg County, S.C. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Warrenville Church of God, the Warrenville Women’s Club, and was a very active member of her local community. She was always happy while doing for others, whether it be baking a pie or visiting and caring for those in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and she shall be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched during the 83 precious years that God granted her on this earth , A service in honor of her life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan Randall and Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Thomas Scott, William Baughman, Dwight Smith, Joel Randall, Brian Williams and Dennis Padgett. Memorials, in Mrs. Blackmon’s honor, may be made to Warrenville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 38, Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
