THOMPSON-Ms. Doris Wedding Thompson, age 73, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late Ray Thompson and daughter of the late Roy Wedding and the late Mary Guy Wedding went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2013. She is survived by stepdaughters: Patricia “Patty†Thompson of Aiken, Nancy Roles and Barbara Decatur both of Virginia and Esther Pierpont of Graniteville; sisters, Mary Gallahan and Lillian Chewning; a brother, Junior Wedding all of Virginia; grandchildren, Shelly Feagin (Gary) Busbee, Kelly Decatur (Darryl) Bell, Sandy Pierpont (Keith) Tager; Jeffrey Lewis Decatur and Taylor Rae Pierpont; great grandchildren, Matthew Lee Jenkins, Luke Hogan Busbee and Jackson Ray Bell. She was born in Garrisonville, Virginia but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville. She was a homemaker, a sister, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who the family stated stood firm on her beliefs. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 73 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, life does not end with death, as the promise of God is eternal life for all who believe in Him. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, April 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James L. Young officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Jeffrey Decatur, Gary Busbee, Darryl Bell, Keith Tager, Freddie Busbee and Tim Cosby.
