Doris Shamrock Stanley

December 31, 1969 — April 26, 2011

STANLEY-Ms. Doris Shamrock Stanley, age 88, wife of the late Clyde Monroe Stanley and daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Myers Shamrock Lewis, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She is survived by her brother, Harold (Pom) Shamrock of Thailand; children, Ronald K. (Carole) Proefrock of North Charleston; Sharon E. Razzani of Jacksonville, Florida; Linda L.(William) Whaley of Scio, NY; Bonnie L. Brewer of Aiken; Judith A. (Roy) Smith; Laurie M. Jackson; Charles T. Stanley all of Windsor. A close family friend, Debra A. Smith of Windsor; 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Shamrock. She was born in North Tonawanda, NY but has been a resident of Aiken County for the past 30 years. She retired as a school bus driver. She was the oldest active member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church and a member of Pairs and Spares. She was a member of WMU. She had a great passion for flowers and gardening. Not only was she a wonderful mother to her children, but welcomed all children with open arms. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will truly be missed; however, there is a consolation in knowing that life for her has not ended but only begun in a better land. A memorial service celebrating her life and homegoing will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Montmorenci First Baptist Church, Windsor, S.C. with Pastor Tommy Richardson officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. As per her request, there will be no viewing. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to Montmorenci First Baptist Church, 37 Old Barnwell Rd., Aiken, S. C. 29803 or to Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Rd., Aiken, S. C. 29801.
