JOHNSON- Doris Williams Johnson, age 90, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late Thomas F. Johnson & daughter of the late Jack Williams, Sr. and the late Addie Lazar Williams, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Johnson of Graniteville, S. C.; a daughter, Jackie Johnson Stong of Texas; a daughter-in-law, Becky Johnson of Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren, Melissa Allgood, Rhett (Elaine) Johnson, Cynthia (Alfonso) Martinez & Cale (Laura) Johnson; great grandchildren, Ansley and Christopher Allgood, Trey, Spencer, Brinkley and Barrett Johnson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Everett Johnson and a grandson, Kevin Johnson. She was born in Martin, S.C. but has been a resident of Aiken County, S.C. most of her life. She retired from the Woodhead Division of Graniteville Company as a clerk in the Shipping Department. She was a dedicated and very active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Graniteville; there, she was a member of the Women of the ELCA and the Archie Dodgen Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Graniteville Leisure Club and the Red Hatters. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. Yes, Doris Johnson was a very special and precious lady who was highly respected in the local community. She was always loving and always loved by everyone. She shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the ninety years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her many loved ones. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at St. James Lutheran Church Saturday evening, May 21st from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held at the church on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Barry T. Antley officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Pallbearers will be Don Hatcher, Carl Lockhart, Bobby Reece, Martin Posey, Tom Young, Sr., Rodney Williams, Gilbert Vance. Joe Lockhart, Donnie Williams, Wayne Britt and St. James Women of the ELCA will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210 or to St. James Lutheran Church, 200 Laurel Dr., Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
