David "Davey" C. Reeves

December 31, 1969 — July 6, 2012

REEVES-Mr. David C. “Davey” Reeves, age 18, of North Augusta, S.C., loving son of Abby Duffie Reeves of North Augusta and Marty Reeves of Graniteville, entered into rest at his residence in North Augusta on Friday, July 6, 2012, after a 10 year courageous battle with leukemia. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a twin brother, William “Wil” Reeves of the home in North Augusta; maternal grandparents, Homer P. Duffie, Sr. of Aiken and the late Mae Dale Duffie; paternal grandparents, Howard and Carolyn Reeves of Graniteville; a special aunt and uncle, Virginia and Tommy Pritchett of North Augusta; a special friend and caregiver, Robert Workman of Clearwater. His mother stated that he was a very loving son and person, who loved life, his church and church family at Burnettown First Baptist Church, where he was a dedicated member. He loved to joke around and have fun; just a typical young man. His was an avid fisherman. He was a real diehard Georgia Bulldog fan, and his favorite saying was “What’s up Dog”. He also was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Yes, Davey, will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched during the 18 short years that God granted him on this earth; however he shall live on forever in everyone’s hearts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, July 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and homegoing will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Burnettown First Baptist Church in Burnettown, S.C. with Rev. Ron Boone officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Brandon Barton, Corey Barton, Jerry Allen, Jr., James Leopard, Phillip Willis and Nicholas Workman. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and Medical Staff at MCG Childrens’ Medical Center and the Hemoc/Oncology Clinic for their support, prayers and dedication during his 10 year battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions in Davey’s honor be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expense. Davey will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
