FOWLER-Mr. Coley Fowler, Jr., age 89, of Summerton, S.C., husband of the late Margaret B. Fowler and son of the late Coley Fowler, Sr. and the late Flossie Magnolia Harrelson Fowler, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He is survived by a son, Alan Lanier (Mary) Fowler of Vaucluse, S. C.; daughters, Judith Ellen (Ken) Cox of Pine Island, Florida and Susan Priscilla (Jack) Hamby of East Bend, N.C.; brothers, Durward Fowler of Jonesville, N.C. and Nathan Fowler of Summerton, S.C.; six grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seventeen great stepgrandchildren. He was born in Tabor City, N.C. He was a retired self-employed refrigeration technician. He was a US Army Veteran having bravely served his country during World War II, during which time he was a parachute jumper and radio operator in the Battle of the Buldge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, June 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date at Park Lawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Fowler’s honor, may be made to the Good Sheppard Baptist Church, 1849 Oak Grove Church Rd., Manning, S.C. 29102.
