Clifton Vernon Kneece

December 31, 1969 — June 4, 2012

KNEECE-Mr. Clifton Vernon Kneece, age 68, of Vaucluse, S.C., loving husband for 50 years to Shirley Jones Kneece and son of the late Vernon Kneece and the late Mary Lamb Kneece, entered into eternal rest on his birthday, Monday, June 4, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons; Huston (Heather Davis) Kneece of Vaucluse, Leroy (Carla) Kneece and Kenny (Michelle) Kneece both of Eureka; a sister, Rosalee Kneece Doolittle of Warrenville; a sister-in-law, Doris Boyd Kneece of Graniteville; grandchildren, Serina (David) Hazlett and Paul Zamora; stepgrandson, Chase Davis; a great grandson, Gabriel Hazlett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kneece; sister, Alice Bertha Kneece and a brother-in-law. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Vaucluse, S.C. He was a dedicated member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse. He also taught Sunday School and served on various committees. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also really loved drag racing, and he had many trophies to prove it. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother; but above all he loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart, and he exemplified this love by his sincere compassion for his fellowman; when his family and friends were hurting, Clifton hurt with them, as he would always have a sincere cry, just when you would tell him about another’s sickness or problems. He would do anything he possibly could for anybody; however, his failing health in recent years, limited his activities, but he would still do what he could. Yes, the world would be a much better place if there were more people like him. He will really be missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched along the way; however, we don’t have to worry about Clifton, because God was ready for his good and faithful servant, and he has just gone to receive his much deserved reward. He set a good example of his Christian love in this life, and he shall surely live on forever in everyone’s hearts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, June 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and home-going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7th at 10:00 AM with Rev. J. B. Redd and Dr. Harold Herd officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be David Jordan, Ed Lamb, John Reynolds, Roland Rivera, Richard Johnson, Richard Redd, Tim Scott and Nish Edward Hancock. The Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Botkin, Harold Enloe, Mike Harris, Tommy Davis, R. D. Kane and Boyd Kneece. Memorials, in Clifton’s honor, may be made to the funeral home. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S. C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You can visit the online guest register at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
